At least eight people were killed and over 20 injured in an explosion while making crackers at Bahabalpur in Odisha's Balasore district.
The incident took place a day ahead of Diwali.
The injured have been rushed to the nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Earlier, in separate incident, one person was killed and three others were injured after fire broke out in a cracker shop located at a market in Odisha's Rourkela.
