Eminent cartoonist R K Laxman, who was admitted to a hospital here late last night in critical condition, was said to be stable.
Ninety-four-year-old Laxman was admitted to the intensive care unit of the Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital for treatment of a urinary infection.
He underwent dialysis yesterday and was recovering. Family sources said that Laxman had been shifted to the ICU as a precautionary measure.
He is said to be on ventilator support after experiencing multi-organ failure.
Through his iconic character of "The Common Man", Laxman has held a mirror to the society by creating satire targeting politicians for more than five decades.
