A senior National Security Council, who was discovered to be the one posting anonymous tweets against President Barack Obama's administration, has reportedly admitted to his tweet-attacks.
Jofi Joseph, 40, was fired from his job in the NSC after caught for his caustic criticisms of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and top NSC officials through his Twitter handle @natsecwonk.
According to the Politico, Joseph admitted to his acts and said that it had been a privilege for him to serve in the NSC and he deeply regretted violating the trust and confidence placed in him.
He further said that what started out as an intended parody account of DC culture developed over time into a series of inappropriate and mean-spirited comments adding that he bore complete responsibility for the affair and apologizes to everyone he insulted.
However, Joseph did not take accountability for a second anonymous Twitter account @dchobbyist, which included tweets that were racier about sexual encounters, escort services and the inner workings of the State Department.
The report said that Joseph was part of the White House team that opened preliminary negotiations over Iran's nuclear program in Istanbul earlier this year and had been scheduled to rotate out of White House duty to a senior job in the Pentagon.
