Former Lankan President Rajapaksa appoints shadow cabinet

Former Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa has reportedly appointed a shadow Cabinet that meets weekly to discuss the existing political situation.

According to the Colombo Page web site, the shadow cabinet will also discuss policies to be adopted and alternative policies to be followed.

Rajapaksa's shadow Cabinet consists of about 15 former ministers, according to reports.

The former President is expected to enter active politics through the next general election.
