Actress Misty Upham, who had gone missing earlier this month, was found dead in the woods in Auburn, WA.
The 32-year-old 'Frozen River' star, who was nominated for an Indie Spirit Award in 2009 for her role in the feature film, was reported missing by her family on Oct 6, a day after they had told the police she was suicidal, Deadline.com reported.
According to a local TV network, a search party of three found Upham's purse and ID, and had discovered a body at the bottom of a 150-foot ravine, which wasn't identified as Upham immediately, but was believed to be her.
Speaking for Upham's family, filmmaker friend Tracy Rector confirmed that the Native American actress, who had recently appeared in 'August: Osage County' and 'Django Unchained,' was found by a search party led by uncle Robert Upham, and said that her family wanted people to know that the Auburn Police Department didn't cooperate in the search.
The actress' family felt that she would have been found if the police had taken the matter seriously, she added.
On October 12, Upham's father Charles had issued a statement via Facebook saying that his daughter might have walked into woods and gotten hurt, and there were better chances of her to survive if they found her sooner, but time was "slipping away.
