Three people died and 20 others were injured on Saturday as a delivery vehicle drove into open terrace of a restaurant at about 3 pm (local time) in the German city of Muenster.
Post the incident, the driver shot himself to death.
According to media reports, a German police spokesperson Vanessa Arlt said they are treating the attack as 'deliberate' though the motive of the driver is not yet known.
Further German government spokesperson Ulrike Demmer took to her Twitter account to convey her condolences.
"Our thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones," Demmer tweeted.
Till now, no one has claimed the responsibility of the attack.
