A report has revealed that the European antitrust regulators may launch an investigation into Google's business practices related to Android.
According to the CNET, the European Commission is preparing to send out questionnaires to companies about their dealings with Google over use of the popular Android software. The probe will examine whether or not Google is guilty of monopolizing the market by unfairly spreading the use of its services over those of the rivals.
The decision highlights Europe's concern over the increasing reach and influence of Google, the report added. Almost 80% of the smartphones shipped worldwide use Google's Android operating system as opposed to 17% that use Apple's iOS.
