Reacting to senior Kerala Congress leader, T.H. Mustafa's statement calling Congress Vice-president Rahul Gandhi a 'Joker', Communist Party of India (CPI) leader Gurudas Dasgupta on Thursday asked is this language they use for their leader and called for a self-introspection within the party.
"Is this the language the Congress leaders use for Rahul Gandhi? It is for them to understand what mistakes they are committing," said Dasgupta.
"This is all a quarrel within the Congress because of their severe defeat in last elections. They should settle among themselves instead of making everything public," he added.
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sudhanshu Trivedi said, "Such statements are not surprising as the Congress has been defeated badly. They should self introspect within their party. The words used by their leaders are their internal matter."
On Wednesday, T.H. Mustafa blamed Rahul Gandhi for the party's electoral reverses in the Lok Sabha election and termed him as a "joker". He also demanded that he should be removed from his posts if he does not step down voluntarily.

T.H. Mustafa, a former minister, further said that Priyanka Gandhi should be made the new party chief.
"Rahul behaved like a joker and that's the reason why the Congress suffered a major reversal in the Lok Sabha polls. The role of a prime minister is not child's play and the people knew it and handed out the worst defeat to the Congress party," he had said.
"He should take responsibility and quit and if not he should be removed and Priyanka Gandhi should be made the new president of the party," he added.
