German hockey player Benedict Furk has pulled out of ongoing men's Hockey World Cup due to an injury. He will be replaced by Julius Meyer in the team.

The German had sought the approval from FIH. The request was assessed and evaluated before being approved.

Germany, who finished on top of the Pool D, have made it to the quarter-final of the ongoing tournament after defeating Malaysia 5-3 in their last Pool match of the tournament. They will take on Belgium in their quarters clash to seal a spot in the last four of the competition.

Two teams, England and Australia, have already made their way into the semi-final of the tournament after defeating Argentina and France, respectively, in their last eight clashes.
