The International Cricket Council (ICC) has reportedly snubbed South Africa's attempt to prevent the proposals for a shake-up of world cricket giving greater control to India, Australia and England, which is currently being discussed at a ICC board meeting.

The ICC has also rejected Cricket South Africa's (CSA) objections over the proposals from the board's financial and commercial affairs committee, despite being top of the world Test rankings, and has cast them aside among the 'other seven'.

According to The Guardian, the ICC has seen no need to amend the simple statement it issued when details of the proposals emerged over the weekend and issued a statement saying that the recommendations, which have been put together by a working group, will be discussed during a meeting in Dubai from 27-29 January.

The statement further said that the ICC would only make a comment on this matter once the board has had the 'opportunity to meet and properly consider the proposals'.

It is understood that the ICC constitution permits any of its members to make a proposal at a board meeting, and this proposal is coming from England, India and Australia, the report added.
