The Islamabad High Court has ordered the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to hold election for the post of its chairman on November 2.

IHC judge Justice Shaukat Siddiqi, who heard the case, said that interim PCB chairman Najam Sethi's term had expired on October 18.

The court ordered that if the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was not prepared to conduct the election on the said date, then it would be held under the supervision of the Registrar High Court.

According to Dawn News, the IHC moreover rejected ECP's request seeking more time to hold the election and ruled that it would be held under the supervision of the PCB secretary.

Justice Siddiqi moreover questioned as to how the ECP could claim that it did not have the mandate to hold the PCB election when it had conducted the Pakistan Engineering Council election, the report added.
