India on Tuesday test-fired its indigenously developed nuclear-capable Prithvi-II missile from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur in Odisha's Balasore District.

According to reports, the surface-to-surface ballistic missile was test fired from a mobile launcher at about 10:05 a.m.

The launch was part of a regular training exercise.

It is the first indigenously developed nuclear missile with a range of 350 km and is capable of carrying 500-1,000 kg of warheads.

Prithvi II was successfully tested earlier on October 7 this year from the same base.
