The Indonesian goalkeeper, who kicked a striker in a stomach during a match in one of the country's top leagues, has said that he is truly sorry for his tackle that killed the player.

Indonesian club PSAP Sigli's goalkeeper Agus Rahman, who has been on the receiving end of death threats after Persiraja Banda Aceh's striker Akli Fairuz died at 27, has insisted that he is not solely to blame for the striker's death.

According to News.com.au, Rohman has suggested that Fairuz's medical treatment was inadequate which resulted in the striker's death in the hospital.

Rohman said that he regrets what happened, adding that why did the player have to die from his kick.

The goalkeeper further said that he is truly sorry to Fairuz, to his family and to everyone.

Fairuz passed away several days after he suffered a horrible tackle from Rohman and took the goalkeeper's kick straight to his midsection, stud first, during their sides Indonesian Premier League Cup clash on May 10, the report added.
