A bridge under construction collapsed in Hoshangabad district of Madhya Pradesh, leaving labourers trapped under debris. So far, 15 injured have been rescued.
As per reports, around 40 labourers were feared to be trapped under the debris of the bridge that was being built over the River Narmada.
Commissioner of Hoshangabad district B.K. Batham said that around 15 labourers had been rescued.
"This incident took place at around 2.30 PM (GMT 09.00). 15 labourers have been injured out of which three are in serious condition and they are not yet out of danger," he said.
The injured had been rushed to a hospital nearby as rescue work continued at the site.
Reportedly, the bridge was being built at a cost of Rs. 30 crore.
