The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has been informed by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry that they have tracked the location of the abducted Indian nationals in Iraq.
Syed Akbaruddin, spokesperson of the MEA, told media here on Thursday that the government is giving the highest priority to the security and welfare of these Indians.
When quizzed about reports of Indian workers being safe in captivity, Akbaruddin said, "There is no safety in captivity. Safety is when people are present at a place where they are welcomed."
Earlier, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said that no stone would be left unturned to rescue the abducted Indians. She also said that she would meet the family members of the kidnapped persons to provide all possible help to them from the government.
