Contractual employees of government-owned computer schools today staged a protest on Vidhan Sabha Marg here, over a demand for permanent jobs.
Police had to resort to a baton charge to disperse the crowd.
The protestors were moving towards Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's official residence when they were stopped by the police. Women protestors were also not spared.
"We were badly beaten...women were not even spared, there were ladies police personnel," said one protestor.
