Madan Mitra discharged from hospital

West Bengal Transport Minister Madan Mitra, arrested in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam, was on Sunday discharged from the SSKM hospital.

Mitra's medical reports found him to be healthy. Later, he was taken back to the jail.

On December 19, Mitra was hospitalized after complaining of chest pain and respiratory distress at the Alipore Central Jail.

He had been arrested earlier on December 12 by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and remanded to judicial custody till January 2 next year.
