Maibam Premjit, a 38 year old successful entrepreneur from Bamon Leikai Mange Makhong district of Manipur, runs a Mai Agarbati Industry and generates job opportunities for others.

After completing his post graduation, Premjit learnt the art of making incense sticks in Gujarat.

In 2014, he set up "Mai Agarbati Industry" located at Khongman Mangjil Keli Leikai.

It produced incense sticks in four different fragrances with indigenous touch - Leihao, Chini Champra, Mengkruk and Khoiju Leikham.

"I feel like if we start giving job to unemployed people in Manipur in some extend then, it can decrease the unemployment problem as well as they can also make ourselves self reliance financially. Even we don't need to depend on the outside product that's how I feel so I started this venture," said Premjit

Premjit also hired nine employees at his factory where about 30-35 dozens of incense sticks are produced in a day.

The products have been received well in the state and he now aims to expand his business.

"There is lot of demand but we cannot supply them all because we have just few employees so, I think if we have more staff and more new machines then, we can meet the demand," said Kiyangleima, a staff.

"I'm not studying anymore so, I'm not interested in looking for any government job so; I came here to work so that I can help my parent," said another stuff, Anand.

Achievements of young entrepreneurs like Maibam Premjit will inspire many educated unemployed youth in the region to explore new innovative ideas and become self-reliant.
