Congress leader Manish Tewari asserted to the statement made by him on Monday at the launch of his book 'Decoding a Decade' at Punjab University confirmed that Dr. Manmohan Singh was not a weak Prime Minister, but the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi is an abrasive one.

"Harish Khare, editor-in-chief of the Tribune, asked me to compare the working styles of the two Prime Ministers and also respond to the perception that Dr. Manmohan Singh was a weak prime minister. In reply to that, I said Dr. Manmohan Singh was not a weak one but the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi is an abrasive one," Manish Tewari told ANI.

He further confirmed the statement by saying that the current Prime Minister has brought the national discourse down to 'samshan' and 'kabristan'. So where will communal harmony stay?

"Looking at today's scenario, the current Prime Minister has brought the national discourse down to 'samshan' and 'kabristan'. So, where will communal harmony stay? This does not look good on his behalf by doing so. Seems like a low attempt. So, therefore, whatever I clearly said is not to hurt the sentiments of people, but just putting my opinion straight," said Tewari.

Tewari's book traverses international issues and regional issues like how Punjab deteriorated due to lack of governance.

Manish Tewari launched his book 'Decoding a Decade' at Punjab University in Chandigarh on Monday.
