Murray parts ways with coach Mauresmo after two years

British tennis maestro Andy Murray has announced that he and his coach Amelie Mauresmo have mutually agreed to end their two-year partnership.

Murray, who dropped to number three in the recent world rankings after tasting defeat at the Madrid Masters final, admitted that he had learned a lot under Mauresmo and ,therefore, thanked her for her invaluable inputs in the team, the Guardian reported.

The 28-year-old, however, confirmed that he would take some time before finalizing the new coach.

Meanwhile, Mauresmo said that she had thoroughly enjoyed working with Murray over the last two years and insisted that she hopes to see the Briton adding many more trophies to his shelf.

 

Earlier, Murray failed to defend his Madrid Masters title after suffering a 2-6, 6-3, 3-6 defeat at the hands of top-ranked Novak Djokovic.
