A new study has revealed that men get influenced by the freedom of their single or newly-divorced friends and end up separating from their other half.
According to the study, almost one in four men who have divorced or split up with their partner admitted that their decision was swayed by friends who had done the same, Metro.co.uk reported.
Meanwhile, only one in seven women were influenced by newly single acquaintances.
The survey, which was conducted by Co-operative Legal Services showed that one in ten confessed they just wanted the same happiness as their unencumbered friends.
Christina Blacklaws, director of policy, said that it was human nature to look up to others for reassurance in their own relationships.
She added that when a couple splits, others often notice the cracks in their own relationship, leading to a ripple effect throughout a social circle or family.
