BJP leader Shazia Ilmi on Thursday demanded the arrest of the lawyers who were representing Mukesh Singh, one of the convicts involved in the December 16, 2012 gang-rape of a 23-year-old woman on a running bus, for encouraging anti-women sentiments.

"Every rapist and murderer has the right of having a lawyer under the Constitution of India. But these views encourage an anti-women mentality," Shazia Ilmi told ANI.

"According to me, action should be taken against these lawyers, and I demand that the lawyers should get arrested for encouraging anti-women sentiments," she added.

Earlier in the day, Nirbhaya's mother said that she might die fighting for her daughter, but still won't achieve justice.
