The Delhi High Court has upheld a trial court's verdict of life sentence to all the three convicts involved in the Nitish Katara murder case.
The court has termed the murder case to be a one that of honour killing.
The three accused in this case Vikas Yadav, son of Uttar Pradesh politician D P Yadav, his cousin Vishal and Sukhdev had earlier appealed to high court challenging their conviction and imprisonment for life by a lower court.
Earlier, a division bench of Justice Gita Mittal and Justice J.R. Midha had reserved their judgment on the case on April 16 last year.
According to the prosecution, Vikas and Vishal killed Nitish Katara on the night of February 17, 2002 after abducting him from a marriage party in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad District.
The three murdered Katara as he was having an intense relationship Bharti Yadav, sister of Vikas Yadav, one of the accused in the murder case.
