Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday said that the arrest of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leaders would not be a setback for his party and added that the law will take its own course.

"I do not think it is a setback for the BJD because these are individual persons, the law will take its own course," Patnaik told ANI here.

Earlier on Tuesday, the CBI arrested BJD MP from Mayurbhanj, Ramchandra Hansda, and two former MLAs Subarna Nayak and Hitesh Bagarti for their alleged links with a multi-crore chit fund scam in Odisha.

The trio was arrested by the special investigating team of the CBI on charges of criminal conspiracy, cheating and diversion of funds.

The three leaders were former directors of Naba Diganta Capital Services Limited, a ponzi group. The CBI has been probing the activities of 44 ponzi companies in the state, which allegedly duped thousands of investors' of their deposits.

The agency had earlier in July recovered 28 lakh rupees during a raid on Hansda's house in the state's Mayurbhanj District.
