Australia took four quick wickets on the final day to complete a demoralising 218-run victory and take a 2-0 lead at Adelaide, according to reports.
According to the Mirror, defeat leaves England's hopes of retaining the Ashes in tatters.
Matt Prior offered some resistance with a free-wheeling 69 from 102 balls, his first half-century for England in 17 innings stretching back to Auckland in March, the report said.
It was the only positive from a morning where England donated wickets too easily again, the report added.
The next Test starts on Friday at Perth, a ground where England haven't won since 1978, the report further said.
