President accepts resignation of Manipur governor

President Pranab Mukherjee today accepted the resignation of Vinod Kumar Duggal as the Governor of Manipur and Mizoram.

According to reports, Meghalaya governor Krishan Kant Paul is likely to take additional charge of Mizoram, which from September 16, has had five governors.

Duggal had resigned on August 28, and is the ninth Governor appointed by the previous United Progressive Alliance (UPA) to resign after Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA Government came to power on May 26.
