President Mukherjee greets Kenya on Madaraka Day

President Pranab Mukherjee greeted Kenya on their Madaraka Day, noting that relations between India and the African have traditionally been warm and friendly.

The official twitter account of the Rashtrapati Bhavan shared the President's message via a series of tweets.

"Warm greetings and felicitations to Government and people of Kenya on their Madaraka Day #PresidentMukherjee"

"Relations between India and Kenya have traditionally been warm and friendly based on historical linkages between peoples #PresidentMukherjee"

Kenya celebrates June 1 as Madaraka Day, which commemorates the day the African country attained internal self-rule in 1963, preceding its full independence from the United Kingdom.
