Quake measuring magnitude 5.1 hits Japan

An earthquake measuring 5.1 magnitude on the Richter Scale struck Chiba Prefecture in Japan on Tuesday morning.

It was centred 13 kilometres away from Isumi, a city in Chiba Prefecture at 9:05 a.m (local time).

No injury or casualty has been reported till now.

Further details are currently awaited.

On August 7, an earthquake measuring magnitude 5.6 struck off the east coast of Japan. It was centred 243km east of Ofunato city.
