Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore visited Jaipur District and adjoining areas to carry out a field survey of the Rabi Crop that has been damaged by unseasonal rains over the past month.

After taking stock of the situation on ground, Rathore promised all help to the farmers of the district.

"The Rajasthan Government and the central government together will help the farmers by providing more than the already available facilities. Today, I talked to the chief minister (Vasundhara Raje) and yesterday had spoken to Arun Jaitley, the finance minister. A special distinctive package will be given to Rajasthan," said Rathore.

He further suggested that in order to avoid similar losses in the future, insurance of fields should be done.

Reportedly, a memorandum announced by the Government of Rajasthan in the state assembly will be submitted to the central government. District collectors of Jaipur and other areas have been asked to submit a memorandum detailing their assessment of crop loss caused by unseasonal rains and hailstorms.

The farming community has blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not stepping in a timely manner to help the distressed.
