ANI New Delhi

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shazia Ilmi on Wednesday alleged that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's real face has been exposed following the allegations of horse-trading against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and alleged that the latter is an extremely insecure, power hungry and ambitious man.

"Arvind's real face, without the mask, is for everybody to see. Arvind has used everything possible. He has used people, he has used all kinds of slogans, he has used promises, even nationalism and love for the country, to further his purpose. And the idea is just to come to power," Ilmi said.

"Be it Lokpal, RTI, free electricity and water, he will say anything to get eye-balls and more and more people. But, he is not serious about anything. He is totally into himself and an extremely insecure man, extremely power hungry and ambitious," she added.

The BJP leader said Kejriwal must come clean on the issue.

"He must be answerable for all that he has done and his cronies do because Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh are like his henchmen. It is Arvind Kejriwal's mind that works and Manish Sisodia implements," said Ilmi.

"If you remember in a letter was written to the LG, Asif Mohammad Khan even said that Manish Sisodia tried to talk to me and he met me. We know that Iliaz Almi, who is a member NSE, was also found and it was later said that he was just visiting Asif Mohammad Khan because we are sort of friends," she added.

Ilmi further described effort made to secure support of different sections for the party.

"So much so that Manish Sisodia even said that he can be the CM face if they are happy with Arvind Kejriwal. So, a kind of desperation was there to somehow get some support from Congress and because the Muslim MLAs would not commit political suicide by joining the BJP. Their option would have AAP, so that point was used," said Ilmi.

"These were discussions in the party before I left; that Congress MLAs would be keen to come to AAP because they would not go to BJP," she added.

Earlier in the day, AAP's senior member from Maharashtra Anjali Damania quit over allegations of horse-trading against Kejriwal.

Damania's disclosure comes at a time when the AAP has been plunged into an internal crisis, with Kejriwal's supporters seeking the ouster of founder members Yogendra Yadav and Prasahant Bhushan. The AAP chief's supporters have accused the duo of attempting to unseat Kejriwal and of having tried to ensure that the party lost the Delhi Assembly polls.
