Russia sacks Bolshoi Theatre head over scandals in tenure

Russia's Bolshoi Theatre head has been removed after allegedly being involved in scandals, the culture ministry said.
Culture Minister Vladimir Medinsky said that Iksanov had been the head of the Bolshoi Theatre for the last 13 years but the theatre needed a renewal.
BBC reports that Anatoly Iksanov, who had been accused of mismanaging the Bolshoi's 1 billion dollars renovation, is to be replaced by Vladimir Urin.
According to the report, the acid attack on Sergei Filin exposed vicious internal rivalries at one of the world's top ballet companies.
