Hundreds of people flocked to watch a puppet show by a Russian group here last evening, ahead of Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to India for the annual bilateral summit.
Chairman of Jaipur Citizen Forum, Rajiv Arora, said that although Rajasthan is famous for puppet shows, this performance by Russian Puppet Troupe is exceptional as it differs in presentation and finishing.
"This group has already performed in 40 countries and 100 cities and they hold their name in Guinness Book of World record. Many people have come to watch this show. So, I completely believe that the people of Jaipur are to watch an international performance and the artistes here will be inspired how music and performance with expression can be well organised and performed on international stage," said Arora.
Meanwhile, troupe spokesperson Helen said that their group makes an effort to present an interesting show for people of all age groups.
"It was organised by our famous artist, Abrashove, and they travelled all over the world and all the Russia to show their performances. They are liked by children and by grownups," said Helen.
The show was organized by Jaipur Citizen Forum where around 24 puppet artists from the Russian theatre gave an hour- long performance that was orchestrated not only for children but for adults as well.
The troupe from Russia holds the Guinness Book of World Records for organizing the maximum number of shows worldwide.
