Saina Nehwal bows out of Malaysia Open

Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal crashed out of the Malaysia Open Super Series Premier after losing the semifinal contest against Chinese Taipei's Tai Tzu Ying in the women's singles event on Saturday.

The Olympic bronze medallist, who slumped to eighth in the latest world rankings, was beaten 21-19, 21-13 by Tai in a contest that lasted 34 minutes.

This was Tai's sixth consecutive win over the top-ranked Indian and more importantly, she has improved the head-to-head record against Saina 9-5.

Earlier, Saina had lost in the semifinals of the Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold and India Super Series.
