Saina Nehwal hospitalised with knee injury

Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal, who made a group stage exit from the ongoing Rio Olympics, has been admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad after a reoccurrence of the knee injury she suffered before the prestigious quadrennial games.
According to the reports, the 26-year-old had been playing through injury throughout the tournament and had eventually suffered from a fat pad inflammation on her right leg.
The injury, which was also cited as the reason behind her shocking group stage exit, hampered her on-court movement in the event, with Nehwal looking visibly uncomfortable during her last match.
Saina, the bronze medallist at the 2012 London Games, suffered a 18-21, 19-21 defeat against unheralded Ukrainian opponent in a magnificent game of badminton at Riocentro-Pavilion 4 to bow out of the Summer Games.
