Sela Ward to play US President in 'Independence Day 2'

Sela Ward is all set to play President of the United States in Roland Emmerich's 'Independence Day 2'.

The 'CSI: NY' star will be collaborating second time with Emmerich as previously they worked together on 20th Century Fox's 'The Day After Tomorrow', Deadline.com reported.

The movie which also is eyeing a May production start and has a June 24, 2016 also includes Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Vivica A, Liam Hemsworth and Charlotte Gainsbourg.

The script for the sequel was written by director/producer Emmerich, producer Dean Devlin, James Vanderbilt, James A Woods and Nicolas Wright.
