These awards were initiated to celebrate the victories of women who have been a great source of inspiration. These awards focused on the women of Pune and the prestigious list included 34 select women with power, supremacy, command and control. These awardees have been instrumental in working towards the improvement of the socio economic, art, health, education, fashion, scientific and intellectual potential of the society.
Her letter of appreciation read - "As a dedicated woman humanitarian, you are a role model for women and girls and an inspiration to all. It is through the contribution of ground-breaking individuals like you that our country is growing and thriving."
The award was conferred on her by Dilip Kamble, Minister of State for Social Justice and Special Assistance in the Government of Maharashtra. Other dignitaries present included Maharashtra MLA Neelam Gorhe, actresses Pooja Chopra, Evelyn Sharma and Sonali Kulkarni and industrial luminaries.
Commenting on the honour Asthana said - "Womanhood is a celebration; add a dash of power to it and it becomes a wonderful combination. Pune, India and the world is teeming with women who are doing commendable work and excelling in their personal and professional lives. We are but a small representation of that woman power, therefore I dedicate this award to all the women of the world and the ever evolving, inspiring spirit of womanhood.
