Australian skipper Steve Smith has denied the claims made by his South African counterpart AB de Villiers on the day-night Test and said his side would be glad to play a pink ball match against the Proteas later this year.
De Villiers had earlier expressed concerns over the pink ball match and claimed that players from both the nations are reluctant to go ahead with the game.
Reflecting on the meeting he had with the South African players, Smith said some of the experienced players of the visiting nation were keen to play the Twilight Test before taking retirement, Sport24 reported.
Smith further backed his stance, saying his feedback was taken in a different way and that he had opinioned to go ahead with the match at Adelaide rather than Brisbane where they would play a Test under lights against Pakistan at the end of the year.
Australia are scheduled to host South Africa in a three-match Test series in November, with the final match in Adelaide intended to be a day-night Test.
Earlier this month, the South African Players' Association showed reluctance over the disadvantage their players might face on account of having not played a day-night Test at any level.
