Over 30 lakh people have been enrolled under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) in Gujarat.
According to reports, Dena Bank, which is the lead Bank for State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) in Gujarat, has stated that people are showing great enthusiasm for enrolling themselves in PMSBY scheme as it provides Rs 2 lakh insurance for accidental death at an annual premium of just Rs. 12.
The PMSBY scheme also provides Rs 2 lakh cover for complete disability and Rs 1 lakh for partial disability due to accident.
The Bankers have reportedly set the enrollment target of 20 percent accounts in these social security schemes.
