Asserting that the United States expects good neighbourly relations between India and Pakistan, Jammu and Kashmir activist Sushil Pandit on Sunday said Washington should understand that Islamabad is not a normal state.
"U.S. expects to see us in a good neighbourly relations but they should understand that Pakistan is not a normal state. Pakistan cannot be equated with India," he told ANI.
Pandit further said it is not surprising that the NSA-level talks between India and Pakistan has been called off.
"Any meeting, which is preceded by so much acrimony and bitterness, allegations and counter allegations, cannot be expected to yield any positive results," he added.
The U.S. State Department has expressed its disappointment over India and Pakistan not going ahead with the NSA-level talks that were scheduled to be held in New Delhi on August 24.
