Former world number one golfer Tiger Woods has admitted he is progressing nicely from back surgery but said he still remains unsure when he will return to competitive action.

The 40-year-old, who saw his form take a dip after suffering a series of back injuries since 2013, hasn't played competitively since August last year. He also skipped the Augusta Masters last month saying he was 'not physically ready' for the opening major of the year.

The 14-time major champion said he would have revealed the date of his return had he knew about it already, the Guardian reported.

Although he admitted to have played casual games at Medalist, a club near his home in Florida, Woods believes he was far from the level where he can compete with the world's best.
