Asian Paints gains after restarting Rohtak plant

Asian Paints rose 0.25% to Rs 882.30 at 9:30 IST on BSE after the company announced that it has restarted operations at its paint situated at Rohtak, Haryana, which was shut down due to agitations in Haryana.

The announcement was made after market hours yesterday, 3 March 2016.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 7.17 points or 0.06% at 24,592.15.

On BSE, so far 6,873 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 80,807 shares in the past one quarter. The stock hit a high of Rs 890 and a low of Rs 882 so far during the day.

 

The large-cap company has equity capital of Rs 95.92 crore. Face value per share is Rs 1.

On 22 February 2016, Asian Paints had informed that operations at its Rohtak plant in Haryana were shut down with effect from 19 February 2016 due to agitation at lMT, Rohtak. Jat community had resorted to agitation and violence in Haryana on reservation demands. The agitations were later called off after the Haryana government fulfilled their demands.

Asian Paints' consolidated net profit rose 25.8% to Rs 463.28 crore on 13.9% rise in net sales to Rs 4102.95 crore in Q3 December 2015 over Q3 December 2014.
