Finanicals stocks edge lower

Finanicals stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Finance index decreasing 124.17 points or 2.06% at 5912.5 at 13:50 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, Muthoot Capital Services Ltd (down 9.58%), Indian Bank (down 9.09%),Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd (down 8.97%),Punjab National Bank (down 7.85%),Canara Bank (down 7.69%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Emkay Global Financial Services Ltd (down 7.14%), Union Bank of India (down 7.05%), Oriental Bank of Commerce (down 5.31%), IL&FS Investment Managers Ltd (down 4.72%), and Centrum Capital Ltd (down 4.02%).

On the other hand, Capri Global Capital Ltd (up 13.29%), Religare Enterprises Ltd (up 5%), and HDFC Asset Management Company Ltd (up 4.2%) turned up.

 

At 13:50 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 570.34 or 1.53% at 36762.45.

The Nifty 50 index was down 165.85 points or 1.5% at 10857.4.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 111.67 points or 0.89% at 12423.03.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 40.29 points or 0.95% at 4210.58.

On BSE,802 shares were trading in green, 1436 were trading in red and 158 were unchanged.
