FMCG shares soften

FMCG stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index falling 52.74 points or 0.49% at 10730.88 at 13:53 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index, Som Distilleries & Breweries Ltd (down 3.6%), EID Parry (India) Ltd (down 2.94%),Tasty Bite Eatables Ltd (down 2.76%),Hindustan Unilever Ltd (down 2.28%),Marico Ltd (down 2.12%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were G M Breweries Ltd (down 2.06%), Gujarat Ambuja Exports Ltd (down 1.64%), Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation Ltd (down 1.33%), Godrej Agrovet Ltd (down 1.29%), and Waterbase Ltd (down 1.27%).
On the other hand, Sanwaria Consumer Ltd (up 4.98%), Mcleod Russel India Ltd (up 4.95%), and Future Consumer Ltd (up 4.89%) moved up.
At 13:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 835.05 or 2.55% at 33555.21.
The Nifty 50 index was up 251.35 points or 2.63% at 9804.7.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 137.27 points or 1.25% at 11112.43.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 67.87 points or 1.76% at 3931.12.
On BSE,1322 shares were trading in green, 981 were trading in red and 163 were unchanged.
