FMCG stocks edge lower
FMCG stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index decreasing 56.25 points or 0.51% at 10924.1 at 13:53 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index, Venkys (India) Ltd (down 5%), KRBL Ltd (down 4.98%),Heritage Foods Ltd (down 3.73%),Nath Bio-Genes (India) Ltd (down 2.88%),S H Kelkar & Company Ltd (down 2.77%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Hindustan Unilever Ltd (down 2.46%), DFM Foods Ltd (down 2.44%), Uttam Sugar Mills Ltd (down 2.4%), Eveready Industries India Ltd (down 2.3%), and ADF Foods Ltd (down 1.88%).
On the other hand, Parag Milk Foods Ltd (up 9.95%), Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation Ltd (up 8.56%), and Future Consumer Ltd (up 4.99%) turned up.
At 13:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 352.91 or 1.12% at 31732.46.
The Nifty 50 index was up 88.7 points or 0.97% at 9276.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 153.97 points or 1.45% at 10795.54.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 60.22 points or 1.61% at 3792.
On BSE,1431 shares were trading in green, 827 were trading in red and 167 were unchanged.
