FPIs turn buyers

Net inflow of Rs 313.29 crore on 11 May 2015

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 313.29 crore on yesterday, 11 May 2015, compared with their outflow of Rs 348.90 crore during the preceding trading session on 8 May 2015.

The net inflow of Rs 313.29 crore on 11 May 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4532.50 crore and gross sales of Rs 4219.21 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 379.66 crore from the secondary equity market on 11 May 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4529.50 crore and gross sales of Rs 4149.84 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex rose 401.91 points or 1.48% to settle at 27,507.30, its highest closing level since 23 April 2015.

 

There was a net outflow of Rs 66.37 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on 11 May 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3 crore and gross sales of Rs 69.37 crore.

FPIs have sold shares worth a net Rs 6570.28 crore in this month so far (till 11 May 2015). They have sold shares worth a net Rs 6528.53 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 11 May 2015). FPIs had bought shares worth a net Rs 12078.12 crore last month. They had bought shares worth a net Rs 10155.09 crore from the secondary markets last month.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 41623.27 crore in calendar year 2015 so far (till 11 May 2015). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 33601.23 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015 so far (till 11 May 2015). FPIs had bought shares worth a net Rs 97055.90 crore in the calendar year 2014. They had bought shares worth a net Rs 84440.80 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2014.
