Healthcare stocks rise

Healthcare stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index increasing 108.38 points or 0.72% at 15130.48 at 09:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Jubilant Life Sciences Ltd (up 4.99%), Opto Circuits (India) Ltd (up 4.98%),Ipca Laboratories Ltd (up 4.94%),Vivimed Labs Ltd (up 4.17%),Syngene International Ltd (up 4.08%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Cadila Healthcare Ltd (up 3.77%), Strides Pharma Science Ltd (up 2.98%), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 2.97%), J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 2.87%), and Ajanta Pharma Ltd (up 2.55%).

On the other hand, Panacea Biotec Ltd (down 2.53%), ERIS Lifesciences Ltd (down 1.49%), and Dishman Carbogen Amcis Ltd (down 0.94%) turned lower.

 

At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 422.34 or 1.32% at 31586.27.

The Nifty 50 index was down 122 points or 1.3% at 9261.55.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 7.1 points or 0.07% at 10781.53.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 10.02 points or 0.26% at 3827.64.

On BSE,682 shares were trading in green, 743 were trading in red and 67 were unchanged.
