Healthcare shares rise

Healthcare stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index rising 159.26 points or 1.05% at 15361.06 at 09:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Panacea Biotec Ltd (up 8.02%), Aarti Drugs Ltd (up 5.88%),Opto Circuits (India) Ltd (up 4.98%),Alembic Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 4.67%),Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 4.66%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Lupin Ltd (up 4.57%), Hester Biosciences Ltd (up 3.82%), Granules India Ltd (up 3.36%), FDC Ltd (up 3.36%), and Medicamen Biotech Ltd (up 3.33%).

On the other hand, Vivimed Labs Ltd (down 4.96%), Caplin Point Laboratories Ltd (down 3.1%), and Piramal Enterprises Ltd (down 2.74%) moved lower.

 

At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 418.38 or 1.31% at 31444.7.

The Nifty 50 index was down 100.1 points or 1.07% at 9213.8.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 47.62 points or 0.44% at 10737.42.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 12.7 points or 0.34% at 3763.42.

On BSE,532 shares were trading in green, 906 were trading in red and 73 were unchanged.
