SBI, ICICI Bank, RIL most active futures contracts.
The Nifty December 2019 futures were at 11,949.50, a premium of 28 points compared with the Nifty's closing of 11921.50 in the cash market.
Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment was Rs 10.03 lakh crore compared with Rs 30.97 lakh crore reported in the previous session.
In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index fell 96.90 points or 0.81% to 11,921.50.
The NSE's India VIX fell 4.65% at 13.64.

On the options front, the Nifty option chain for 26 December 2019 expiry showed maximum call open interest (OI) of 22.18 lakh at the 12,000 strike price. Maximum put OI of 32.73 lakh contracts was seen at 12,000 strike price.
State Bank of India (SBI), ICICI Bank and Reliance Industries (RIL) were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. SBI December 2019 futures were at 319.50, compared with spot closing price of 318.20. ICICI Bank December 2019 futures were at 526.80 compared with spot closing price of 525.25. RIL December 2019 futures were at 1,561.70, compared with spot closing price of 1,554.50.
The December 2019 F&O contracts expire on Thursday, 26 December 2019.
