Quick Wrap: Nifty Auto Index declines 3.95%, NIFTY Tumbles 1.65%

Nifty Auto index ended down 3.95% at 6855.75 today. The index is down 10.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd slipped 9.36%, Bharat Forge Ltd dropped 6.53% and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd fell 6.08%. The Nifty Auto index is down 36.00% over last one year compared to the 3.79% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Infrastructure index is down 3.64% and Nifty Financial Services index has dropped 2.98% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has slid 1.65% to close at 10925.85 while the SENSEX is down 1.66% to close at 36958.16 today.
