Quick Wrap: Nifty Auto Index registers a drop of 3.31%, NIFTY Crashes 1.53%

Nifty Auto index closed down 3.31% at 7192.75 today. The index has lost 7.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Exide Industries Ltd dropped 6.50%, Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd slipped 5.15% and Amara Raja Batteries Ltd fell 4.68%. The Nifty Auto index has decreased 33.00% over last one year compared to the 4.22% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Media index has slid 2.51% and Nifty Private Bank index is down 2.45% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 is down 1.53% to close at 11419.25 while the SENSEX has slid 1.44% to close at 38337.01 today.
